EN 356- impact falling ball test
A steel ball of 4.11kg is dropped from a standardized drop height
onto a horizontally positioned test panel. EN 356 falling ball
test is similar to DIN 52290.
The test simulates impacts that glazing can undergo in cases
of aggression: vandalism, burglary or manual attack.
Using SaoSA UV-H, it is possible to make laminated glazing of
all categories, from P1A (lowest category) to P5A(highest category). |

Security performance
EN 356 sharp and blunt impact test = "axe test"
The test panel is positioned vertically and clamped. The impactor
is positioned on a mechanism at a fixed distance. The objective of
the test is to measure the minimum number of strikes with a hammer
and axe required to produce a square opening. After all glass plies
are destroyed using the hammer, the axe is used to make the opening.
The test simulates the action of a hand-held axe or the use of thrown
objects in cases of severe aggression.
EN 356 axe test is very similar to DIN 52290, both tests apply the
same procedure and requirements.
Using SaoSA UV-H, it is possible to make laminated glazing of all
categories P6B (lowest category) up to P8B (highest category).
